Meta has catapulted into notoriety with the launch of Threads, their text-based Twitter-like platform, which hit 100 million users in only a few days. Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, recently announced they will be looking into adding some new features such as a following feed, edit button, and post search option. There are also some branded options coming.

Meta also still hasn’t forgotten about its metaverse promise, with the addition of avatars that users can conduct calls with if they’re not camera-ready. Here’s the scoop.

Nick Clegg, Meta’s President of Global Affairs, recently also released a piece calling for greater transparency in AI development – another step along the same lines of the Partnership on AI project.

And finally, YouTube is joining the rest of the generative AI trend with the launch of AI-based quizzes in the app, testing users’ knowledge of topics of interest. Here’s how YouTube describes the feature: “The quizzes will test your understanding of a subject covered in a video you recently watched. If you choose to take a quiz, a link to the recently watched video will appear under it so you can easily navigate back to learn more about the topic at hand. This global experiment is rolling out to a small percentage of viewers on iOS and Android who recently watched a few, select educational and EN-language videos.

And that’s all for today. We’ll catch you next week!
