Facebook is currently testing out a “clear mode” for Reels, allowing for a more streamlined and uncluttered view – coming soon! Additionally, Meta has updated its labels for AI-generated content. The “AI info” tag is meant to provide more clarity for users regarding how AI has been used in the content they see. More information on that here.
LinkedIn is now offering an exciting new option: sponsored newsletters. This change should help users get more information to their target audience, though currently, the feature is only available to Company Pages.
Next, TikTok is changing up how ad restrictions work for teens, specifically: “Advertisers will not be able to reach teens in the United States using any personalized targeting and campaign selections. Advertisers will only be able to reach teens using a few broad targeting options, such as location, language, and device-related information.”
Ad partners on TikTok will also be required to label AI-generated content. Here’s some more information on that.
Our last updates come to us from YouTube. First, picture-in-picture viewing for Shorts for Premium users, making it easier to multitask in the app. Users will also be getting the ability to mention other channels in comment sections. Plus, channel handles have been extended to 75 languages.
And finally, an “add yours” sticker option is currently in limited testing, similar to features from Instagram and TikTok, wherein users can encourage viewer participation with Shorts.
