Greetings, all! Let’s get into today’s updates.
First we’ve got Meta. After testing, Meta Verified users are now able to restrict DMs to only other verified users. Additionally, a new video ad option is available called Catalog Product Ads. There’s a lot to unpack there, so here’s some more information for you.
Next, LinkedIn is following some other platforms in adding labels for AI-generated content. This effort comes as part of The Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity.
YouTube has joined gaming ranks with the launch of “Playables,” in the hopes of keeping engagement up. Have you tried any of the available games? Let us know!
Additionally, YouTube creators have finally been given more guidance for rule violations, including specific time stamps referencing when in a video the violation occurs. Here’s a look at part of what this update includes:
“…when a creator uploads a video using our Self-Certification process on web uploads and that video receives a yellow icon, they have the option to appeal and have one of our experts review the video. When that review is complete, the issues our expert found that led to a yellow icon, for either Limited or No Ads will appear for the creator in Studio, alongside timestamps of where in the video they appeared.”
And finally, from TikTok: TikTok Studio is here; it’s a new dashboard where creators can manage all aspects of their presence. That means creators can upload, film, edit, and post to TikTok directly from TikTok Studio as well as use tools like auto caption, photo editor, and autocut. Also, a new floating video player option has come to TikTok for desktop.
That’s all for now!
