YouTube has some new supervised usage options in the app, giving parents increased oversight in the Family Center hub. Of the update, YouTube said:
“In Family Center, parents can see shared insights into their teens’ channel activity on YouTube including the number of uploads, subscriptions and comments. Parents (and teens) will also receive proactive email notifications at key events, like when teens upload a video or start a livestream, providing an opportunity to offer advice on responsible creation.”
More thumbnail editing options are also here! Users can now update the thumbnail after posting, as well as add text and filters. Some new AI detection features are also on the way, to fight deepfakes – alerting creators when their faces or likenesses are found in faked content.
If you’re looking to use YouTube to drive traffic to your website, good news, a website visits option has been added to the Studio. And finally, the “Add Yours” sticker has been rolled out to all Shorts users.
From TikTok: a notes-like feature where users can share a small thought, which will appear as a bubble on their profile. New safety tools are coming as well, thanks to a partnership with The Family Online Safety Institute (FOSI). Here’s the scoop.
And lastly, Instagram is continuing to expand DM engagement options, with drawing tools, stickers, and cut-outs. Have you tried any of these?
