All aboard! The AI train continues on social media this week. The first update we have to report is from YouTube. Starting July 31st, AI-generated video summaries will be available to fill users in on watch and search pages. This experiment is meant to help users determine if a video is the right fit for them, but isn’t meant to replace video descriptions written by creators.
YouTube is also adding some TikTok-like features for Shorts, with the new ‘Collab’ feature, a copy of the ‘Duet’ option on TikTok. Q&A stickers are also coming. Here’s the full scoop on all the new features.
Next, Meta is bringing AI-led chatbots with over 30 different personalities to the platform. These bots will be coming to Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram, with a similar function to ChatGPT.
LinkedIn is also adding more AI to the platform with the new LinkedIn Coach application. This feature will assist users in applying for jobs, learn new skills, and find more ways to connect to their network. Here’s a peek at what that’s going to look like.
And finally, we have one non-AI update for you. If you’ve been looking to get into Pinterest, the platform’s newly-released Q2 2023 report has some great insights to check out!
That’s all for this week! We’ll catch you next time.
