With engagement on Threads fizzling out, parent company Meta is working on some new features to drive engagement. Among these are first Threads notifications, showing someone’s most recent Thread on their Instagram profile, and in-feed alerts for Threads discussions.

Next, Meta is exploring the option of an ad-free option for Facebook and Instagram. The word is that this subscription tier will cost $14 USD for Facebook and $17 for both platforms. Keep an eye out!

And lastly for Meta, more AI options are likely on their way. Chatbots are coming to all of Meta’s apps, with various personalities to explore, plus smart glasses. There’s a lot more to this. You can read a deep dive here.

Next up, if LinkedIn is part of your recruitment toolkit, you’ll be excited about this upcoming change. The Recruiter 2024 project is bringing AI to the recruitment process. Here’s how LinkedIn describes it:

“With the new Recruiter 2024 experience, talent leaders can use natural language and put their hiring goal in their own words like “I want to hire a senior growth marketing leader.” And with generative AI combined with our insights, we can infer the type of candidate the hirer is looking for and provide higher-quality candidate recommendations from a much wider pool of candidates — moving beyond the brand-name companies that have traditionally been the default.”

And last but not least, YouTube is launching some updates to analytics, which will give users some more impactful insights into why subscriptions are canceled, as well as why new and returning users engage with content.

That’s all for now! We’ll catch you next week with more updates.
