Happy new year, all! Just a few updates today.
Do you tend to catch typos just as you press “post?” Well, good news! Instagram has added an option to stop Stories mid-upload.
Threads is still adding new features to keep engagement up. Now users have been given the option to hide like and share counts on posts in the app. This is also available as a default setting as well as for individual posts.
The heftiest chunk of updates this week come from Meta.
- Meta’s ad targeting options are getting pared down a bit. Here are the details.
- New disclosure requirements for digitally altered political ads are in effect (similar to Instagram and TikTok’s new requirements for AI-generated content).
- A new “Link History” option is coming to all users. (You might have seen a pop-up on Facebook regarding this feature recently.) That means that any links you’ve tapped in-app will be saved for 30 days. You also have the option to delete any part of this history.
That’s it for now. We’ll catch you next week!
